Congratulations are in order for Paul O'Grady who has married his long-term partner.

The Blind Date host married professional ballet dancer Andre Portasio in a small ceremony in London in front of guests including Sir Ian McKellen, comedian Julian Clary and EastEnders star-turned-politician Michael Cashman, The Sun reports.

It has also been revealed that the pair tied the knot in ceremony held in the gardens at The Goring Hotel in Westminster, central London on August 5.

Andre previously performed as a dancer with the English National Ballet and Paul's relationship with Andre followed the tragic loss of his partner Brendan Murphy in 2005.

Murphy, who was also Paul's manager, suffered a brain tumour and passed away days before O'Grady's 50th birthday.

Paul and Andre have been together since 2006, after being previously introduced by Brendan before his death, with the pair going on to have a long-term friendship and partnership and – of course – now a marriage.

Taking about their relationship in his 2012 autobiography Still Standing, Paul described that it took them both by surprise.

"Our relationship just crept up on us," he wrote. "It took us by surprise when we were least expecting it."

However, this isn't the first time Paul has been married.

For over 20 years, Paul was involved in a marriage of convenience with Portuguese model Teresa Fernandez, although the pair were not actively in a relationship. Their marriage was dissolved in 2005.
