Paul O’Grady jokes Cilla Black took cocaine and left him ‘Blind Date’ in her will

Paul O’Grady has made some shocking revelations about his old friend Cilla Black, branding her a “mad woman” and dishing that she took the class A drug cocaine.

Was the Lily Savage legend joking?

Cilla died at her Spanish villa in 2015 and Paul, 61, has taken over presenting duties on her infamous dating show ‘Blind Date’ which she presented from 1985 to 2003.

But according to The Sun newspaper, the Liverpudlian star had a bumpy start as he filmed the new look series in front of an audience. He apparently forgot the contestants’ names, tripped over his words and even swore. So, to distract the audience from his errors, he blamed Cilla’s “spirit” for haunting him.

Fair enough. Cilla’s shoes will be hard to fill and Paul is bound to need some time to get used to his new role.

However, the funnyman then stunned the crowd when he said – TWICE – that Cilla was a cocaine user.

Huh?!?

Paul admitted that presenting the show was proving to be a hard slog, before telling the audience: “How the fuck did Cilla do this for 25 years? No wonder she was on cocaine. God bless her, wherever she is. Her spirit is here you know, pisssed herself laughing at me and ruining my show — causing all the issues. What can I do now? Oh I think I’ll go and have a line of coke while I wait.”

And the revelations continued to come thick and fast.

Paul also moaned that Cilla had left him the show in her will, saying: “Why am I doing it? Oh yeah that’s right — Cilla left it for me in her will. No seriously, she made me do it.”

The late star’s eldest son, Robert, recently gave Paul and the show his blessing, adding he felt his mum’s best friend was definitely the right man for the gig.

Will he stand by his words after he hears about Paul’s latest shenanigans?

Paul also claimed that Cilla was a “mad woman” who had a wild side and the pair loved to party together.

“You all thought Cilla was all mumsy, but you’re out of your mind if you think that. She bust my nose in a Jacuzzi in Barbados. What a mad woman she was.”

We bet that Cilla is looking down at us sipping champagne and laughing her head off at Paul’s latest tales!
