Paul Pogba presents France teammates with NBA-style World Cup winners rings

Paul Pogba has made a brilliant gesture to his fellow France World Cup-winning teammates following their triumph in Russia last summer.

Midfielder Pogba spared no expense as he bought the entire squad diamond-studded ‘winners’ rings, inspired by those in American sports such as the NBA and NFL.

Manufactured by Jason of Beverly Hills, the commemorative jewellery was designed by the Manchester United man and fellow compatriot Antoine Griezmann as a memento of their success in the competition.

Each personalised ring consists of three carats of white diamonds, rubies and sapphires, with the France Football Federation logo sitting prominently on the head of the ring, surrounded by the words ‘world champions’.

The band of the ring features the famous trophy, as well as the scores from all of France’s knockout matches en-route to winning the tournament.

Pogba presented the gifts to his teammates as the squad convened for international duty ahead of the start of their Euro 2020 qualifying campaign.

“It’s a small gesture after winning a World Cup with great players,” Pogba said during a press conference at France’s training centre.

“I consider them my family. It’s a small gift from me.”

France beat Croatia in Moscow last July to win their second world title, with Pogba scoring the third goal in a 4-2 victory.

Les Bleus begin their European Championship qualifying campaign with a trip to Moldova on Friday before welcoming Iceland to the Parc des Princes three days later.
