Paul A. Young’s homemade chocolate spread recipe

In our Ultimate Chocolate Recipe video series, Master Chocolatier Paul A. Young demonstrates eight deliciously decadent recipes to satisfy your sweet tooth, from stacks of chocolate pancakes to an indulgent chocolate tiffin.

In the video above, Paul shares his recipe for creamy chocolate spread made with nut butter and agave syrup, a treat to enjoy with the whole family. 

MAKES

Two 150ml Jars

INGREDIENTS

  • 200ml agave syrup

  • 50g 70% dark chocolate, chopped

  • 30g 35% milk chocolate, chopped

  • 150g nut butter – you could use peanut, hazelnut, cashew or almond

  • 3g Maldon sea salt

METHOD

In a saucepan on a low heat, warm the agave syrup and add the chopped chocolate. Stir to melt then stir in the nut butter and salt. Mix until smooth.

Pour into sterilised jam jars and seal tightly. Leave overnight to set.

Store at room temperature and spread on your favourite bread. Use within one month.
