Peak District camping and glamping spot named the best in England
A five star camping and glamping site in the Peak District has won a regional award for Campsite of the Year and is described as a "hidden gem".
Longnor Wood Holiday Park, which sits in between Buxton and Bakewell, picked up the annual award, being named the AA Heart of England Campsite of the Year.
The holiday park is an adult-only and dog-friendly site, offering a range of accommodation from ensuite glamping pods to luxury lodges as well as caravan homes with outdoor tubs.

Sam Kitchen, the manager of the site, said: "It’s such an honour to win this award, especially when you consider how many brilliant tourism businesses are based in our region. The success of the site is thanks to the passion and dedication of the entire team, who work really hard to ensure our guests have a brilliant time with us.
"Many of our guests are repeat visitors because they love the site and its location so much.”
The winning sites were selected by AA inspectors for their outstanding quality and high levels of customer care that were displayed, which awarded the site a five -star rating by AA and also the AA Gold Pennant rating which is reserved for sites with a quality score of over 90%.

The popular site has been called perfect for those looking to visit the stately homes of Haddon Hall or Chatsworth Estate, as well as being in close proximity to the Monsal Trail and the Tissington Trail.
The holiday getaway spot is also a part of the WCF employee-owned family of businesses which operates across the UK in leisure, retail and logistics.
