Film crews behind the upcoming Peaky Blinders movie have returned to a West Midlands canal this week, with the cameras set to roll once more. Crew members from Oblik Productions Ltd have this week descended on the Dudley Canal at Bumble Hole and Warrens Hall Nature Reserve in Netherton, Dudley, ahead of the highly anticipated Peaky Blinders movie, set to be released in late 2025 or early 2026.

Movie props such as barrels and coal sacks were seen today (November 18) stacked along the edge of footpaths near the canal. Signs have appeared in the nature reserve advising that filming will be taking place on Tuesday (November 19) from 10am to 4pm and Wednesday (November 20) from 6am to 4pm.

Today on Monday, a small number of crew members were pictured on the site. A large collection of props had been gathered on the corner of a footpath. However, no camera rigging was visible when BlackCountryLive paid a visit.

A poster erected by the Canal & River Trust says that the Dudley Canal towpath between Cobb's End Bridge to Bullfield Bridge and Bumble Hole Bridge has closed from today until Friday (November 22). The mooring has also been suspended in the area this week. Several members of security were also present.

But with filming not starting yet, dog walkers and passers-by were still being allowed to walk through the area. The movie props generated excitement, with members of the public stopping to take a look.

Amongst the props included more than a dozen black sacks of coal. A pallet was also pictured amongst the pile while barrels were also seen.

A separate flyer from Oblik Productions said public access to the reserve will remain open this week however diversions for pedestrians will be in place. Drone filming will take place on Wednesday to "capture the beauty of the canal and surrounding nature," the flyer said.

The production company said the initial visit, which took place last month, was a "success" and paid tribute to the local community saying "we couldn't have done it without your cooperation".

Oblik said it will be making a donation to the community group Friends of Bumble Hole and Warrens Hall Nature Reserve as a "token of our appreciation". "We hope this contribution will assist the volunteers in maintaining and enhancing the natural beauty of the area," said a company spokesperson on the flyer.

Last month on October 17 and October 18, film crews were spotted at the mouth of Netherton Tunnel at the nature reserve. Similar props were spotted then, including coal sacks, while a number of canal boats were moored on the towpath.

The Netherton nature reserve is one of a number of West Midlands locations used for filming the upcoming movie, alongside the Black Country Living Museum and birmingham-city-centre>Birmingham city centre. Cillian Murphy will return to take up the starring role of Tommy Shelby while Barry Keoghan and Rebecca Ferguson have reportedly joined the cast.

The Peaky Blinders movie is set to appear on Netflix and will be titled The Immortal Man.
