It sounds as though one Peaky Blinders cast member won't be returning for more Brummie bloodshed.
Alexander Siddig has told Digital Spy that his character Ruben Oliver – who debuted in the previous series – is not a part of the upcoming fourth run.
"They have a way of moving on, three years or something, every time they start a new season," Siddig explained. "As far as I know I'm not involved."
Ruben, an artist hired by Polly (Helen McCrory) to paint her portrait, spent the last series attempting to woo the formidable matriarch.
He succeeded in winning her affection, but we're guessing the pair broke up off-screen given Siddig's non-involvement in the new episodes.
"She obviously found someone else!" he laughed. "That's what happens! You go full cock – excuse the pun – and then you get totally stood up!"
Harsh, but then Aunt Pol's always been ruthless...
Peaky Blinders is shooting its fourth series right now – with cast members including Cillian Murphy and Tom Hardy returning – and will return to BBC One later in the year.
