Peckham stabbing sees man rushed to hospital after knife attack in shopping street
A man was rushed to hospital with knife wounds following a stabbing in Peckham in the early hours of this morning (Sunday, September 15). Police rushed to the scene on Rye Lane, SE15, after receiving calls of a knife attack at about 5.15am.
Officers found a man collapsed in the street and performed emergency CPR until paramedics from the London Ambulance Service (LAS) arrived. They then treated him at the scene and rushed to hospital.
Thankfully doctors assessed his injuries to not be life-threatening. No arrests have yet been made by the Met Police in relation to the stabbing but an investigation has been launch with enquiries being made.

The road was closed while emergency services worked but it has since been reopened. A crime scene remains in place, however, as officers make enquiries. Rye Lane is an iconic busy shopping street in Peckham that runs from Peckham High Street to the equally iconic Nags Head pub. It was the setting for the 2023 rom com Rye Lane.
A spokesperson from the Met Police issued a statement about the attack. They said: "Police were called at approximately 05:15hrs on Sunday, 15 September to reports of a man stabbed in Rye Lane, SE15.
"Officers who were first on scene found the man collapsed in the street; they performed emergency CPR until the arrival of London Ambulance Service. The man was taken to hospital for treatment – his condition is not life threatening.
"No arrests; enquiries into the circumstances continue. Road closures were put in place while the scene was dealt with; these have now been removed but a crime scene remains in place.
"Anyone with information that could assist is asked to call 101 or ‘X’ @MetCC and quote CAD1491/15Sep. You can also provide information anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
