Pedestrian airlifted to hospital after hit by car on Anglesey road

A pedestrian was airlifted to hospital after being hit by a car on Anglesey. The serious road traffic collision happened on the B4422 at Rhostrehwfa near Llangefni in the early hours of Sunday October 27.

The pedestrian was initially taken to hospital in North Wales. They were then airlifted to the trauma unit at Stoke University Hospital.

Police are appealing for witnesses.

Sergeant Daniel Rees of the Roads Crime Unit has said “At 01:13 hours this morning emergency services responded to reports of a collision between a pedestrian and a Ford Fusion car on the B4422 Rhostrehwfa near Llangefni on Anglesey.

"The pedestrian was transported to a North Wales Hospital before being transferred to Stoke University Hospital by air ambulance having suffered serious injuries. We are appealing for any witnesses to the collision to come forward.

"We would also like to speak to anyone who may have been travelling along the B4422 Rhostrehwfa around this time and may have seen a pedestrian or have dash cam footage, or local residents who may have CCTV footage to contact us.”
