Pedestrian struck by truck dies despite desperate bid to save him
A pedestrian died after he was hit by a HGV. The man was on Northop Road near Flint Mountain when the incident happened.
He was struck shortly before 1pm yesterday. Emergency services responded - including the Wales Air Ambulance.
There were desperate attempts to save him but he sadly died at the scene. Police closed the road for several hours after the collision for the response and later crash investigation work.

They are now asking for any potential witnesses to come forward.
A spokesperson for North Wales Police said: "Sadly, a man has died following a road traffic collision on Flint Mountain yesterday afternoon (Monday, 18 November).
"Shortly after 1pm we received a report of a collision on Northop Road involving a pedestrian and an HGV. The emergency services attended including the Wales Air Ambulance, however, despite the best efforts of all involved, the pedestrian died at the scene."
Detective Constable Melanie Hughes from North Wales Police Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “Our thought remain with the man’s family at this incredibly difficult time. We are urging anybody who may have been travelling along Northop Road around the time of the collision, or just prior, and who may have witnessed anything, or anybody who may have dashcam or private CCTV footage to make contact with us.”
The road re-opened shortly after 6:30pm.
