Pedestrian dies in Stoke-on-Trent collision
A pedestrian has died after being in collision with a car. Police have taped off a section of Blurton Road - between Cemlyn Avenue and Brookside Drive - for a number of hours following the collision.
The alarm was raised at 11.36am this morning. Police, firefighters, paramedics, and an air ambulance were scrambled to the scene.
A Staffordshire Police spokesman said: "We are appealing for information after a woman sadly died following a collision with a car in Stoke-on-Trent. Officers were called to Blurton Road, in Blurton, following reports of a black Kia Ceed colliding with a pedestrian.

"We went to the scene alongside paramedics from West Midlands Ambulance Service, Midlands Air Ambulance, and Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service. Sadly, the pedestrian, a woman in her 50s, died as a result of her injures. We have deployed specially-trained officers to support her family at this difficult time.
"Collision investigators are working to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident. At this stage, we don’t believe anyone else was involved."
StokeonTrentLive has approached West Midlands Ambulance Service for a statement following the tragedy.
Police are appealing for witnesses. Anyone with any information should call the police on 101, quoting incident number 208 of 18 November, or email investigators at this address.
