Pedestrian hospitalised after crash with cyclist in Union Street

A pedestrian has been hospitalised following a crash with a cyclist in Union Street, Plymouth city centre, yesterday, Tuesday, October 1. Police were called to the scene of the collision at around 5.05pm.

Emergency services attended and the pedestrian, a man in his 50s, was taken to hospital with facial injuries. The road was closed to traffic for some time as an investigation took place. Union Street was reopened around 7.55pm.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "Police were called to reports of a road traffic collision involving a cyclist and a pedestrian on Union Street, Plymouth, at around 5.05pm on Tuesday 1 October.

"Emergency services attended the scene. The pedestrian, a man in his 50s, was taken to hospital with facial injuries. Local road closures were put in place, which were lifted at around 7.55pm."
