Pedestrian in Royal Stoke six days after being seriously injured in crash with car

A pedestrian seriously injured in a crash with a car remains in hospital six day on. Police have launched an appeal for dashcam footage and witnesses after the 74-year-old woman was struck by an orange Land Rover Discovery.

The driver - a 42-year-old man - was not hurt in the collision, which happened on the Clayton Bypass in Congleton at 5.08pm on November 6.

Police have confirmed the pensioner remains in the Royal Stoke University Hospital where her injuries are described as 'serious'. Enquiries into the smash are ongoing.

Constable Archie Love, of the Roads and Crime Unit at Cheshire Police, said: “This was a serious collision which has left an elderly woman with serious injuries, and we are committed to doing all we can to establish what took place.

“As part of our enquiries we’re keen to hear from anyone who was in area and witnessed the collision taking place. The same goes for anyone with any dashcam or CCTV footage which may aid the investigation. I’d urge anyone with any information to call us."
