Pedestrian 'seriously injured' in Birmingham collision
A pedestrian sustained potentially 'serious injuries' after he was struck by a car in Birmingham. Police and paramedics were called to Selly Park Road in Selly Oak just before 7.20pm yesterday, Thursday, November 21, where they found a wounded man.
He was treated at the roadside before he was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital. Several road closures and diversions were in place while the emergency services dealt with the incident.
The Pershore Road was closed in both directions from Dogpool Lane to Selly Oak Road. Bus numbers 45 and 47 were also re-routed.

A spokesman from West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called to reports of a collision between a car and pedestrian on Selly Park Road at 7.18pm, one ambulance attended the scene. On arrival we discovered one patient, a man, who was the pedestrian.
"He was treated for potentially serious injuries before being taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham."
The road closures were lifted around 8.40pm and buses returned to their normal routes.
