Peggy Mitchell’s EastEnders Return Has Been Teased In A Chilling New Trailer

Peggy Mitchell makes her very final return to Albert Square next week (sob) and EastEnders have released a spooky new trailer.

It features Walford legend Peggy (Dame Barbara Windsor, of course) roaming around her old stomping ground, in an almost ghost-like state.

During her travels, she comes across Stacey and Martin. Judging by their clothes - Stacey’s white dress and Martin’s smart suit - and their big , smiley faces, they’re about to be married.

Peggy doesn’t interact with the happy couple, but rather looks on, with a wistful smile on her face. Could it be that Peggy is happy that troubled Stacey, who murdered her evil ex-husband, Archie, has settled down and found happiness?

The former landlady of the Queen Vic, then runs into Jane and Bobby. This isn’t such a happy meeting. Again, there’s no interaction, but Peggy’s face looks shocked. Could she be the key to Bobby finally getting his just desserts for killing Lucy?

And finally she sees her alcoholic son Phil outside the pub, shortly followed by her non-alcoholic son, Grant, how comes from inside the Vic. Then we see Peggy smile a big, satisfied grin, before she disappears behind a taxi.

BUT WHAT DOES IT ALL MEAN? Why was Grant inside the pub? Is this something to do with Ross Kemp and Danny Dyer’s promised punch-up? Why isn’t Phil wasted? Are the Mitchell brothers about to reclaim the Square? Whatever is about to go down, we know it’s going to be epic.

We don’t have to wait too long to find out. Peggy is back on screen from Monday May 9th.
