Penny Lancaster reveals moment she was followed home aged 13
Rod Stewart’s wife Penny Lancaster shared a terrifying story on Loose Women today of when she was followed home by an older man aged 13, who cornered her inside her home.
The former model and photographer opened up the ITV chat show following X Factor star Rebecca Ferguson’s harrowing admission that she had been sexually assaulted aged 8 in a children’s home.
Penny added that young girls are generally too trusting of men and recalled a time when she too had been targeted by an older man, saying: “There was an occasion when I was walking back from the shops. I was being followed by this man. I thought he was being a gentleman… before I stupidly realised he came all the way to my front door.
“When the phone rang, I put down my bags and he went into the kitchen.”
Penny pretended her dad was on the phone and the man fled.
She added: “I made it really clear that we weren’t going to be alone… It reminded me that I was so small and vulnerable when I was 13.”
Penny added that Rebecca – who was a guest on the show today – was “really brave” for opening up on live TV about her ordeal.
Saira Khan was the first panelist to bravely reveal on the daytime chat that a family member came into her bedroom and molested her when she was 13 years old and the ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ star was praised by Kaye Adams, who said she had helped thousands of viewers come to terms with their own experience of sexual abuse.
