Pensioner, 72, suffers 'serious injuries' after collision with Mercedes

Police are appealing for witnesses after a 72-year-old woman suffered 'serious injuries' following a collision with a car. Officers were called to the scene in Crewe where the pensioner had to be taken to hospital - where she remains.

Now Cheshire Police is appealing for witnesses to the collision - which took place at the junction of Earle Street and Queen Street - to come forward. The incident, involving the woman, a pedestrian, and a silver Mercedes, occurred at around 6pm on May 20.

The driver stopped at the scene. Meanwhile cops say the pedestrian remains in hospital.

PC Elliot Price said: "This collision occurred at a busy time of day so we are urging any witnesses to contact us. We are also asking anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage of the incident to make contact."

Witnesses should call Cheshire Police on 101 and quote IML 1828445.
