Pensioner, 73, killed in collision with lorry in Greenford Road

Police are hunting witnesses to a fatal crash where a pensioner was struck by a lorry on a busy west London high street.

The woman, 73, died at the scene close to a Tesco Express in Greenford Road, Ealing at 2pm on Friday October 28.

Detectives are investigating the circumstances and are urging witnesses or anyone with footage of the collision to come forward.

A Met spokesman said: “Police were called shortly after 14:00hrs on Friday, 28 October to reports of a lorry in collision with a pedestrian at Greenford Road, Ealing.

“Officers and the London Ambulance Service [LAS] attended. Despite their efforts, the female pedestrian, aged 73, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

“Her family was informed and are being supported by specialist officers

“The driver of the lorry stopped at the scene. There has been no arrest.”
