Pensioner in his 80s punched and kicked at One Stop Shopping centre in Perry Barr

Police have issued a CCTV image of two men they want to speak to after an elderly man was beaten in a shopping centre car park. Officers said the victim, in his 80s, was 'kicked and punched to the ground' by two men at the One Stop complex off Walsall Road, Perry Barr, just before 3pm on September 6.

Police and paramedics were called to the scene. The man did not suffer life-threatening or life-changing wounds. His attackers fled the scene.

West Midlands Police have now released an image of two men on a moped they would like to speak to in connection with the incident. Anyone who recognises the men should contact the police.

Birmingham Police said: "We're asking the public for help after a man in his 80s was assaulted in a car park at the One Stop Shopping Centre in Perry Barr. The man was assaulted by two men on 6 September shortly before 3pm in a car park in Walsall Road.

"The two men who attacked him fled the area after and thankfully the man's injuries were not thought to be life-threatening or life-changing.

"We're releasing this image in case anyone in the area at the time saw these two and knows who they might be.

"We're carrying out further enquiries in the area and are especially keen to hear from any drivers in the area who may have dashcam footage showing the two riding an e-bike. If you know anything, contact us via 101 or Live Chat quoting crime number 20/821431/24."
