Pensioner dies in Edinburgh hospital after collision involving car and lorry
A pensioner has died in hospital after a collision involving a car and a lorry.
James Hynd, 85, was rushed to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh after the crash on the A977 near Blairingone, at around 5pm on September 19. He died on September 23.
The driver of the lorry was not injured. Police have said enquiries are ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "A man has died following a crash on the A977 near Blairingone.
"Emergency services were called to the two vehicle collision, involving a car and a lorry, around 5pm on Thursday, September 19. The 85-year-old male driver of the car was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh where he died on Monday, September 23.

"He can be named as James Hynd from Dollar. His family have requested their privacy be respected. The driver of the lorry was not injured.
"Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the crash and officers continue to appeal for information."
Road Policing Inspector Andrew Thomson said: “Our thoughts are with James’ family and friends at this very difficult time. Officers will continue to offer support throughout our investigation.
