Pensioner's Lucky Escape As Neighbour's Wall Collapses On Car While He's Inside
Eddie Hall, 68, was popping to his car when the building collapsed on top of him
A pensioner cheated death when his neighbour’s house collapsed on top of his car while he was still inside.
Eddie Hall, 68, was popping to his car which was parked on the driveway in between his own and neighbour Brian Loveridge’s home.
Straight after jumping into the front seat, tonnes of rubble had fallen onto the car’s roof from part of the gable end of Brian Loveridge’s building.
Rescue teams, including two fire engines, paramedics and police, dashed to the scene in Oldbury, West Midlands Wednesday 27 May.
Luckily Eddie managed to haul himself out of the car and escape with just cuts and bruises to his head and face – but his blue Citron was completely crushed.

Brian, 76, who owns a health and fitness centre, said: ‘I was at home and I heard this terrible rumble.
‘The wife came running in and said it was thunder. There was rubble and dust everywhere.’
West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman Claire Brown said: ‘Much to the amazement of ambulance staff, the man who had been in the car was out of the vehicle.
‘When ambulance staff arrived they found a badly damaged car covered in bricks parked on a driveway in-between two houses.
‘The second storey outside wall of the neighbouring house had collapsed onto the car whilst a man was sitting inside.’
