These are what people believe are the biggest threats to global security

People across the planet deem the biggest threats to global security to be ISIS and climate change.

A new survey found that 62% of people questioned across 38 countries were most concerned by the Islamic terror group.

Climate change was the second biggest concern to the global population, with 61% believing it to be the biggest threat facing the planet today.

The survey, conducted by Pew Research Center, gave eight possible threats for people to choose, with ISIS named as the top threat in 18 of the 38 countries that took part.

These countries were mostly concentrated in Europe, the Middle East, Asia and the United States – areas that have suffered from recent terrorist attacks.

Thirteen countries, mainly in Latin America and Africa, chose climate change as the number one threat.

It also came second in the list for many other countries.

Some 51% of people said cyberattacks were the top concern – coming in first in Japan and second in the United States, Germany and the UK.

The refugee crisis was the top concern for 39% of people but Hungary was the only country to call it the number one threat.

Worries about the power and influence of the United States, Russia and China also featured on the list.
