People are just learning how to add tiny emojis to their iPhone screen
People are just learning how to add a tiny emoji to their iPhones and what it actually means.
After over 17 years of Apple iPhones, you would think most users might have figured out how to work all its intricacies but with every new model and update, there is else to learn.
When a social media user asked a question on Threads about how to turn off the orange dot that indicated their microphone was being used, people responded with a query of their own.
Sharing a screenshot of her phone screen featuring the offending orange in question, many users replied asking how she had been able to add a heart emoji in the top left next to the time.

In response, another user answered explaining how to do it. They wrote: “It’s a custom do not disturb setting and scroll down to the bottom when choosing an emoji.” And someone else explained: “swipe down your control center> focus or do not disturb> click desired focus mode you’d like to edit> settings> under the name click ‘edit’.”
People following the thread were delighted with the update with many revealing they hadn’t been aware and would be adding their own. One person replied: “I didn’t know this was a thing! That’s so cute!”
And that’s not the only iOS 18 update that’s amazing people. Travel guru Chelsea Dickenson, known to many as the Cheap Holiday Expert, has revealed the latest update to the calculator app, with users now able to utilise it as a currency converter.
Previously used for solving sums and equations beyond our mental arithmetic capabilities, the calculator app - which is readily available for download - has expanded its utility by offering currency conversion functionality.
In her latest clip, Chelsea expressed she was "absolutely chuffed" with this addition, explaining that the app she previously relied on for currency conversions had started incorporating adverts, affecting the user experience. "Maybe I'm a saddo, but that's absolutely made my day," she said with enthusiasm.
Not only does the calculator maintain its standard features, but it now also includes options that enable the conversion of different currencies and measurement units. Chelsea's excitement was evident when she captioned her update: "Anyone else LOVE THIS or am I the only saddo?! Yep - the iPhone calculator now doubles up as fee currency converter."
She further clarified: "You just need to be on iOS 18. I tested it and it does work offline, though obviously it will use the exchange rate when it was last connected to the internet but it's still gonna be really helpful at giving you a ballpark figure!"
