Holidays don't often come cheap, with a lot of careful budgeting usually needing to be done before jetting off overseas. So, many TikTok viewers have been left astounded after one mum shared a recent meal out she enjoyed with her family of seven while on holiday in Tenerife which set them back just £46.20.

Mum-of-six Gemma Loveden, who has over 26,000 followers on TikTok, where she shares helpful hints about how to feed a large family, recently enjoyed a family holiday to the Spanish island with her partner and five of their children. She documented the two-week trip on her TikTok, including one particular meal out in the harbour town of Los Cristianos, where the party of seven managed to spend under £50 on a meal.

Sitting down for an evening meal at Linares 2 Restaurant, the family ordered two pizzas, a lemon chicken dish, steak and chips, an extra side portion of chips, and two bottles of water and a bottle of Coca Cola - all of which came to just €54.84, or £46.20.

The budget-friendly dinner has caused quite a stir among Gemma's viewers, many of whom can't believe how affordable their bill was, reports the Daily Record. One person commented: "That would be £150 in easy in Turkey.", with another agreeing: "More than that! I paid 160 euros for two steak meals and two kids nugget meals in Antalya."

Another viewer, who had also recently visited Tenerife, added: "I just got back from Playa de Las Americas and prices were 3x this." And a third wrote: "That's a really good price, would have been over £100 here."

Gemma also shared a separate video from the same evening, which showed her taking her kids to an ice-cream parlour straight after the dinner at Linares 2 - where they spent just €16 on seven ice-creams, working out at €2.28, or just under £2, each.

However, unfortunately not everyone has been as lucky on recent holidays. One tourist couldn't hide their fury recently upon being slapped with a whopping £610 bill for 'four drinks and food' at a Greek bar in Mykonos, according to the Daily Record.

Moral of the story: It's wise to research and confirm prices before deciding on your dining spot.
