People on PIP told 87 conditions could get them £184 a week from DWP

87 musculoskeletal conditions which could get you Personal Independence Payments have been revealed. Almost 3.4 million people in the UK claim PIP allowance, according to the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).

If successful with a PIP allowance claim, you could receive either the daily living or mobility parts of PIP, or even both. This means you could potentially get up to £184.30 a week in PIP payments, depending on the severity of your illness and to what extent it affects your life.

General conditions include osteoarthritis and chronic pain syndrome - from Chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) and Fibromyalgia to pain syndromes - Chronic - Other / type not known - as well as inflammatory arthritis.

This includes Ankylosing spondylitis, Arthritis - Psoriatic, Arthritis - Reactive, Inflammatory arthritis - Other / type not known, Juvenile chronic arthritis (Still's disease) and Rheumatoid arthritis. Crystal deposition disorders, osteonecrosis and osteochondritis, metabolic and endocrine disorders and genetic disorders, dysplasias and malformations, are also listed.

Benign tumours of bone and fracture complications are also listed. Regional conditions - from shoulder and elbow to wrist and hand disorders - are also listed. Neck disorders, Non specific back pain and Specific back pain are also listed.

Hip disorders and Knee disorders as well as Ankle and foot disorders, amputations and injuries/fracture/Dislocation including abdomen, lower limbs, multiple limns, pelvis, spine, thorax, upper limbs and other regional musculoskeletal disease are also on the list from the DWP.

Musculoskeletal disease - Regional / Localised - Other / type not known - completes the list of 87, the DWP stipulates. The PIP allowance rate you may be entitled to depends on whether you’re eligible for the daily living or the mobility components of the DWP assessment.

It means you can claim up to a maximum of £184.30 a week – if you receive both the daily living and mobility parts of PIP at the higher rate.
