Some people were left puzzled by Taylor Swift's song selection for her acoustic set during a recent Eras Tour concert in Liverpool. The pop star typically surprises her audience with four unique songs, performed solely on guitar or piano, which aren't part of her regular set list as part of her current tour.

At her Anfield Stadium show on June 14, Swift chose to perform a mashup of Gold Rush, from her Evermore album, and This Is What You Came For. The latter, a 2016 hit single produced by Scottish DJ Calvin Harris and sung by Rihanna, reached number two in the UK charts.

The choice to 'cover' a song rather than perform one of her own left some confused. However, many fans will already know that Swift not only co-produced This Is What You Came For with Harris, but also co-wrote it.

Swift can even be heard singing parts of the 2016 track alongside Rihanna. People have taken to social media to share their thoughts on Swift's decision to perform the song, reports Wales Online.

"Hell no you're not taking this away from Rihanna," Hadidzful on X exclaimed, as the debate over song ownership heated up. Mafiapositions voiced their displeasure: "THIS IS CALVIN HARRIS SONG YOU THIEF," while Frank_datankkk wrote: "Rihanna I'm so sorry."

However, Swift's fanbase was on hand to provide swift corrections for those unaware of her role in the track. Deaunteee pointed out the misunderstanding on social media: "Didn't know I would see the day where people are GENUINELY getting mad that Taylor is singing a song SHE WROTE AND HAS VOCALS ON?!"

Taysblackdog were quick to iron out any confusion, adding: "Funny how yall are mad, while not even knowing this is her song... like she wrote it." Stayinqnumb said: "People are mad about it?????

"I thought it was a serve. Artists sing covers on tour all the time, and Taylor literally wrote this song so they can’t say she can’t sing it as a surprise song." C_alessandroo penned: "Before yall say anything she co-wrote the song and sang background vocals…"

Taylor Swift is set to continue captivating attendees at her UK Eras Tour, with her next performance set for Cardiff's Principality Stadium tomorrow evening. The star has left her mark on Liverpool and Edinburgh already and is expected to wow the crowds at London's Wembley Stadium thereafter.
