Pep Guardiola has been "contacted' by the FA to gauge his interest in becoming England manager, according to reports.

The Three Lions are on the hunt for a new permanent boss after Gareth Southgate quit following their defeat to Spain in the Euro 2024 Final. And now they could turn to the nation that dumped them in Berlin in order to go one better and finally win a first tournament since 1966. Interim boss Lee Carsley has taken change of the last Nations League camps, although his chances of landing the gig were severely dented by a 2-1 defeat to Greece at Wembley last week.

Now the Times reports that FA chiefs have sounded out the Man City boss over the possibility of taking over. His contract at the Etihad is up at the end of the season, with speculation rife that he could leave the champions for a new challenge after nine trophy laden years with the Citizens. And England are keen to try and take advantage, with the Catalan expected to make a call on his future within the next few weeks.

There are claims that Guardiola has his eyes on the Brazil job when he departs City, and would snub the FA in favour of taking the reins at the Selecao. However, staying in Manchester hasn't been ruled out either.
