Perrie Edwards dropped the F-bomb live on Radio 1

Radio 1's Big Weekend listeners got a little more than they bargained for when Little Mix took to the stage this afternoon, as Perrie Edwards dropped the F-bomb in the middle of their set.

The excitement of performing was apparently a bit too much for Perrie, as she shouted "F**k that get down and dirty" during the group's performance.

"Apologies there. Sincere apologies for any bad language you might have heard," radio host Matt Edmondson said quickly, cutting off the girls' set and replacing it with none other than a bit of Justin Bieber's 'Sorry'.

"That was not intended to go out on the radio," he continued. "We apologise if you're offended by that. We're doing to dip out of their set for a little while now."

Well, the DJs may have dipped out of the set, but those listening to the set on the radio were less impressed by Little Mix being cut off:

Little Mix's set at Radio 1's Big Weekend had all their recent hits, including 'Shout Out To My Ex', 'Black Magic', and their new single 'Power', a collaboration with Stormzy.

The set was also a chance for Jesy Nelson to debut her new blonde hair:

But it wasn't all smooth-sailing backstage as the girls' set did start a little late – mainly, we learned later, due to Jade's trousers splitting as they were preparing to walk out.

"They were warming up and doing a little dance routine, and Jade's pants split," DJ Cel Spellman explained to listeners on Radio 1 and the livestream.

"Her trousers split right down the side, so she's been furnished with some new ones," Matt added.

And Jade even addressed the whole hubbub herself on Instagram later, posting a picture of her warming up with the caption: "Just after this photo was taken my trousers split going onstage at @bbcradio1 #BigWeekend #goodjobtheundiesmatched."

The festival has been going on all weekend, with performances from the likes of Katy Perry, Ann Marie and Rita Ora, with lots of artists leading the crowd in touching tributes to the victims of the bombing at an Ariana Grande concert at Manchester Arena last week, which left 22 dead.
