Perrie Edwards relives the moment she had a 'breakdown in an airport' after a phonecall with Zayn

What with Little Mix’s new single being all about exes, the girls have been talking about their ex-boyfriends quite a lot in a series of interviews.

The latest revelation comes courtesy of Perrie Edwards, with the star revealing that she suffered an actual breakdown in the security line of an airport following one particularly nasty phone call with an ex.

And although she doesn’t name names, it’s safe to assume that the ex was former One Direction star Zayn Malik, as he has been her only serious partner – and ex – since she joined Little Mix five years ago.

Speaking on Heart FM’s breakfast radio show, Perrie was asked about her lowest ever ex moment, and she recalled: “I was at the airport and I got an awful phone call, erm, from someone. And then… I just… what did I…? I just remember screaming in the airport.

“I was like a women possessed! It was awful! It just bubbled and bubbled and I thought I was going to explode.”

In fact, Perrie reacted so badly that her bandmates were worried that they wouldn’t be allowed through security, with Jade Thirlwall adding: “She had a little mini breakdown in the airport.

“And it was in the security line and so we thought ‘oh god’.”

Leigh-Anne Pinnock continued: “We literally just made a little shell huddle around her so that no one could see her and we were like ‘it’s ok, just let it out’.”

Jade went on to clarify that as they were in America they were scared that Perrie wouldn’t be allowed into the country, with Pez quipping: “I was either going to get put back on a flight back to the UK or put in a straitjacket!”

The revelation comes after Perrie confirmed that Zayn did end their four-year romance via text message last year before shacking up with supermodel Gigi Hadid.

She explains in the band’s book: “It was horrible, the worst time in my life. A four-year relationship, two year engagement ended by a simple text message. Just like that.”

It’s safe to say that Perrie has definitely had the last laugh now!
