Person airlifted to hospital after reportedly falling from roof in Derry

A patient has been rushed from Derry to the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast by Air Ambulance.

It comes after "an incident" in the Rathkeele Way area of Derry city on Tuesday morning. It's understood a person fell from a roof in the area.

A spokesperson for the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service said it received a 999 call at 10.52am on Tuesday.

The spokesperson added: "NIAS despatched one Emergency crew and one Rapid Response Paramedic to the incident. The Charity Air Ambulance with HEMS on board was also tasked to the incident.

"Following initial assessment and treatment at the scene, one patient was taken to Royal Victoria Hospital by Air Ambulance."A patient has been rushed from Derry to the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast by Air Ambulance."

The condition of the patient is not yet known.
