Person Carried Out on Gurney Following Knife Attack in Nice

At least three people were killed in what local officials described as a “terrorist attack” at the Notre-Dame de Nice basilica in Nice, France, on October 29.

As armed police officers entered the basilica via a side entrance, multiple shots rang out, other video shows. The footage here, shot shortly after, shows a person being carried out on a gurney to an ambulance.

Police said the suspect was detained at the scene and was injured during the their intervention. France’s national anti-terror prosecutors said they have opened a murder inquiry following the incident, according to AFP.

The incident took place just before 9 am. David Olivier Reverdy, a representative with the Alliance police union, told reporters that two women and a man were attacked, and that it was unclear if the suspect had acted alone.
