Person dies after being hit by a train as Stansted Express trains cancelled
A person has died after being been hit by a train causing delays and cancellations on Stansted Express trains. Services on the train line have been affected between Cheshunt and Tottenham Hale this afternoon, blocking all trains which are scheduled to travel through those stations (November 14).
Emergency services are currently dealing with the incident. It is not yet known how long delays will be, as a result. Services are reportedly at a standstill. Some trains may be diverted to Seven Sisters, others will be cancelled or delayed. Replacement bus services have been put in place. It was first reported at 12.47pm today.
The British Transport Police commented: “Officers were called to Northumberland Park railway station at around 12.30pm today (14 November) following reports of a casualty on the tracks. Paramedics also attended, however sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”

Greater Anglia have shared on their website: "We will be supporting Network Rail and the emergency services to re-open the line as soon as possible but we currently do not have a time-frame for this."
The following routes will be affected:
• Stansted Express between London Liverpool Street and Stansted Airport
• Liverpool Street - Cambridge North
• Liverpool Street - Hertford East
• Stratford - Bishops Stortford
• Stratford - Meridian Water
