Man suffers serious injuries in crash between car and pedestrian
A MAN was seriously injured in a collision between a car and a pedestrian in Keighley this afternoon (Wednesday).
The West Yorkshire Police received a report of a road traffic collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian at 12.16pm at the junction of Queen’s Road and South Street in Keighley.
A police spokesperson said a man was seriously injured and was taken to hospital.
A spokesperson for the Yorkshire Ambulance Service also said: "We received an emergency call at 12.08pm this afternoon to a report of a collision involving a car and pedestrian at the junction of Queen's Road and South Street in Keighley.
"One ambulance was dispatched to the scene and one patient was conveyed to Airedale Hospital."
Other reports indicated that South Street was closed while the emergency services dealt with the incident.
There were also reports of queueing traffic in the area.
However, a police spokesperson said the road re-opened at 2.44pm.
