Person left seriously injured in Union Street crash
Union Street has been closed after a serious injury crash tonight. Emergency services have been at the scene of the collision, between the Octogon Street roundabout and Union Rooms pub since about 4.45pm today.
A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police has said a person has sustained serious injuries at the scene, though the full extent of the crash is currently unknown. Photos taken at the scene show cordons are in place in Union Street.
Officers hope to reopen the road as quickly as possible, the spokesperson added. An eyewitness said: "Two ambulances and four police cars, by the sign that car crashed into before by Flora Street. They've blocked off that end of getting into union street."
