Person rescued from River Avon in Bristol after emergency services block main road
A person was rescued from the River Avon after entering the water in Bristol. Emergency services were called to Clarence Road, in the Redcliffe area of the city, at 12.53pm this afternoon (Tuesday, September 24).
Fire crews from Bedminster, Temple, Southmead, Bath and Portishead rushed to the scene alongside police officers and paramedics. Pictures show Clarence Road blocked off as the casualty was rescued from the river.
Avon Fire and Rescue Service said: "On 24 September at 12:53pm crews were called to reports a person entering the water from Clarence Road, Redcliffe. Crews from Bedminster, Temple, Southmead, Bath and Portishead rescued them by using the turntable ladder and a twin line system.

"Crews worked with police and ambulance on the scene, and the casualty has now been passed over to ambulance crews."
