Person rushed to hospital after Gloucester shopping centre incident

A person was rushed to hospital after an incident in Gloucester city centre this morning (Thursday, November 28). Emergency services were called to Eastgate Shopping Centre, on Eastgate Street, at around 11.50am.

Two ambulances, an operations officer and a critical car rushed to the scene alongside police officers. It has been confirmed that one person was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital.

Pictures from the scene show multiple emergency service vehicles parked outside Eastgate Shopping Centre. Gloucestershire Police has confirmed that officers were called to help paramedics deal with a medical incident.

A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) said: “We were called at 11.50am on Thursday 28 November to an incident in Gloucester.

"We sent two double-crewed ambulances, an operations officer, and a critical care car to the scene. We conveyed one patient by land ambulance to Gloucester Royal Hospital.”
