Person seriously injured after crash between mobility scooter and car in Dawlish

A person has sustained serious injuries at the scene of a crash involving a car and a mobility scooter. Exeter Road, in Dawlish, has been closed in both directions while emergency services are at the scene of the collision.

Devon and Cornwall Police were called to Exeter Road at about 11.55am today (Wednesday, November 13). A spokesperson for the force said one person is reported to have suffered serious injuries.

The road has been closed near East Cliff Road and emergency services remain at the scene. Traffic monitoring system Inrix reports: "A379 Exeter Road in both directions closed, delays due to serious accident, a car involved from The Church to The Drive."

Devon and Cornwall Police said: "Police were called to reports of a road traffic collision involving a car and a disability scooter on Exeter Road, Dawlish, at around 11.55am today, Wednesday 13 November.

"Emergency services are at the scene. One person has been reported to have serious injuries.

"The road has been closed in both directions. The incident is ongoing."
