Pete Davidson reveals he received ‘death threats’ over Ariana Grande romance

Pete Davidson has told how he battled a hate storm after news of his romance with Ariana Grande went public.

The Saturday Night Live cast member popped the question to the pop sensation earlier this year and has since faced a barrage of criticism.

Speaking during an interview on SiriusXM's The Howard Stern Show, he explained: “I got a death threat. Someone wanted to shoot me in the face because she's so hot.

“Do you know how insane that is? I was like, 'Am I that ugly that people want to shoot me in the face?'''

Davidson also went on to add that he had already been fighting off his own insecurities before dating Grande.

The 24-year-old said: “Before we started dating, I went through a list of really hot guys on the internet and I was like, 'Are you sure?'

“I was like 'Here is all of One Direction. Are you sure?' I scrolled through everybody.''

Davidson has since stopped running his own social media admitting that it had taken a toll on him.

He explained: “If I post something I like and then people just s*** all over it, it was like, ‘You’re asking for it.’”

Davison and Grande became engaged after just weeks of dating back in June, however, the comedian told how he knew he wanted to marry the No Tears Left to Cry star from the first day they met.

Last month he told GQ how he immediately had his sights set on the pop star after just one date.

Davidson told the publication: “The day I met her, I was like, ‘Hey, I’ll marry you tomorrow.’

“She was calling my bluff. I sent her a picture (of engagement rings).

“I was like, ‘Do you like any of these?’ She was like, ‘Those are my favourite ones,’ and I was like, ‘Sick.'”
