Pete Doherty arrested in France amid drug sale allegations
Pete Doherty has been arrested in Paris for allegedly buying cocaine.
The British singer, 40, was placed in detention last night, French authorities said.
He was stopped by police during an alleged drugs deal, and it has been reported that he was carrying two grams of the substance.
According to Le Point, Doherty was arrested around 3am.

The French publication also said people passing by had filmed the incident.
The Libertines and Babyshambles star, who used to date supermodel Kate Moss, has previously been open about his struggles with addiction.
The singer has had a string of brushes with the law for drugs and driving offences and has spent time in prison.
He has previously tried to tackle his addiction with stints in rehab.
In 2014 he checked into a treatment centre in Thailand and declared himself clean and sober upon leaving. However, he recently told The Guardian he stayed that way “for about 10 minutes after I got back to Margate”.
During the interview, the singer said he thought that he would be “a force to be reckoned with” if he was free of drugs.
“I’d have money and self-respect and clean hands,” he said.
