Peter Andre celebrates major milestone with parents after mum's tragic health news
Peter Andre has marked a significant family milestone with his parents, following recent revelations about his mother's "declining" health.
The 51-year-old Australian singer previously opened up about struggling to deal with his mother's condition after she was diagnosed with Parkinson's and Alzheimer's. However, Andre recently shared some happier news as his parents marked their 69th wedding anniversary.
In a video posted on social media, Andre's father Savvas can be seen presenting a bouquet of flowers to his wife, Thea. Peter captioned the video: "You inspire me so much mum and dad. Love you so very much. My 91-year-old dad giving flowers to my beautiful mum. Happy 69th wedding anniversary."
The Mysterious Girl singer then shared a photo of his father embracing his mother. The couple appeared overjoyed, having spent nearly seven decades together.
Thea, 89, and Savvas live in Australia, with Thea currently living in a care home. Andre has previously discussed the challenges of coming to terms with his parents' advancing age, particularly given the distance between them and his own family.
Writing in his New! column, Andre said: "I can't believe I'm nearly 51. I was worried as I approached 50, but I'm over that and I feel great."
"I'm loving life and age is just a number. You can live life to the fullest at any age. Although I thank God my parents are still here, I am seeing the rapid decline, especially in Mum. I find that part hard to deal with."
He then shared: "Like most people, l'm so close to my parents that it is really difficult to come to terms with."
