Peter Andre defends splashing out on Audi for 17-year-old son Junior
Peter Andre has defended buying his son Junior an Audi for his 17th birthday – saying it wasn’t brand new.
‘Mysterious Girl’ singer Peter splashed out a reported £25,000 on the car for Junior as he reached the milestone – even though he can’t drive yet.
It sparked a bit of a backlash on social media, with some people suggesting it was OTT.

However, Peter has addressed the lavish gift in OK!
“I may have spoilt him with an Audi A1, which is the one he really wanted, but it wasn’t brand new – so it wasn’t exactly what he wanted!” he said.
“I don’t think a new car would set the right example.”
The singer, 49, said that Junior – his son with his ex Katie Price – had now started driving lessons.
“I’m sure it won’t be long until he’s on the road,” he said.
Junior, who has launched a music career, recently shared a picture of him with his new wheels on Instagram.
Many people posted positive messages saying that he deserved the car for working hard and wishing him well.
But some thought it was a bit much for someone so young.
“Spoiling your kids with 40k motors is not good for their soul,” one person posted.
“What you do in your private life Pete is up to you but don't rub it in the faces of people who are struggling to live at the moment,” said another.

One suggested a “less powerful car” might have been better.
“And some ppl can't afford to eat!” said one person. “Yes good for you but maybe think of others before you flash off your gifts.”
