Peter Andre's wife Dr Emily says there's 'stigma around' being a young mother after welcoming first child aged 24
Emily Andrea believes there is still stigma attached to being a young mother.
The doctor and her husband Peter Andre welcomed their daughter Amelia, nicknamed Millie, in 2014 when she was 24 and Emily has now said there needs to be support for young mums.
The 31-year-old made her comments in her OK! Magazine column in response to Stacey Solomon recently claiming that she felt "ashamed" at having her first child at 17 years old.

"The stigma around being a young mum can still exist," Dr Emily wrote. "Unfortunately, I think the stigma around being a young mum can still exist, but it’s wrong and nobody should judge you for the age you decide to have children. We need to support young mums."
Solomon said she had received unwanted stares, which led to her feeling "shame" throughout the pregnancy.
Meanwhile, Dr Emily said she felt “quite young” at 24 to be having a child.
"I was 24 when I had Millie, which I still count as quite young,” she said. “That was hard at times, too. It’s really challenging and the last thing you need is people giving you dirty looks! Thankfully, I had a positive experience."
The medic is also parent to son Theodore, four, with the Mysterious Girl singer and step-parent to the children he shares with Katie Price, Junior, 15, and Princess, 13.
Solomon's eldest son Zachary is now 12, while she went on to welcome son Leighton, eight, with an ex-partner and Rex, one, with fiancé Joe Swash.

Last week, she responded to a comment from an Instagram follower criticising the fact her sons each have a different dad.
“Families come in all shapes and sizes and what’s important is that the love is there no matter where it comes from,” she remarked.
“We are not a ‘broken family’ in any way shape or form we are an extended family. And everyone loves an extension.”
