Peter Andre has reflected upon Rebekah Vardy's jibe about his private parts, which was unearthed during her recent trial against Coleen Rooney.

I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! contestant Coleen, 38, famously accused Rebekah, 42, of leaking stories about her to The Sun newspaper from her personal Instagram page back in 2019.

During the lengthy court case, which concluded in 2022, Rebekah's previous remark, referring to Peter's manhood as a "small chipolata" was used against her.

The wife of Jamie Vardy made the comment in a 2004 kiss-and-tell interview which had the headline: "Peter's hung like a small chipolata, shaved, slobbery, lasts five minutes."

Discussing the drama, the Mysterious Girl hitmaker said he initially laughed along with the claim, but eventually took issue with how much it kept being brought up.

He said on Abbey Clancy's Exhibit A podcast: "It would've been double standards for me to have a go, because I've said stupid things in my life.

"What I didn't like about it was it kept getting brought up, brought up, and brought up. It's like, 'OK you said something, so what?'"

After Abbey mentioned that it was a made up story, Peter, 51, joked: "Oh she made that bit up! For me, I just thought it would upset you if somebody said something true, maybe, I don't know if that's the right way to say it.

"What I'm saying is, I don't hold anything... It was a bit of a laugh, I was even laughing at it and then it was a bit like, 'Oh, come on'."

Speaking in court, Rebekah didn't quite say it was made up, but claimed she was "forced into" doing the interview and expressed regret over it.

She added: "It is something that I deeply regret... It is not nice to read and I understand why this is being used and to me this is mudslinging and I was also threatened with mudslinging by Mrs Rooney's team."

Peter has previously claimed there would be "absolute outrage" if the tables had been turned, and he had said something bad about a female.

He added in an Instagram video at the time of the court case: "Yes, now she has gone to court and admitted that the story was made up and she did that because her ex-husband forced her to do it, fair enough.

"But put that all aside and just think how that feels, if a man, or if I had said this about her anatomy, or a man said something about a woman's anatomy, and made up something saying... I dunno, whatever, you can use your imagination, saying something very unflattering, there would be absolute outrage.

"But because it has been said about me it's been the butt of all jokes, I've taken it for 15 years."
