Peter Andre has recalled the loss of his dear brother to cancer 11 years ago, a wound he admits will never heal. It follows the announcement last week that BBC presenter Lauren Laverne had been diagnosed with cancer.

In his OK! column, he said that it's a relief that it was detected early, and it's fantastic that she's expected to fully recover. I sincerely hope this for her and her family.

He added: "It's been 11 years since I lost my brother to cancer, a loss I will never truly overcome. So hearing about potential success stories brings me joy. The only advice I can offer anyone is to get checked if you notice anything unusual just get it checked. Even if you think it's nothing, there's no need to feel embarrassed about ensuring your health."

But in happier news, Peter told of his time on holiday with his family. It was the first trip abroad for baby Arabella, who was born in Taunton earlier ths year, and the pop star said that he loved his time with his loved ones, as OK! reports.

He wrote: "We had an amazing time in Cyprus with our family. It was Arabella's first holiday and she thoroughly enjoyed it she even had her first dip in the sea this week.

"Spending quality time as a family is crucial because life at home can be hectic with school and work. Emily and I work well together and we've managed to carve out some precious family time.

"We're very hands-on and are making it work having a baby is never easy. Although I own a house in Cyprus, it was rented out when I tried to book it, so we couldn't stay there.

"Instead, we went to Akamas near Paphos, which was delightful, and spent some time with my brother Chris and his lovely family. We did manage to squeeze in a few days at our home towards the end of the trip. By the time you read this, we'll be back to reality!"
