Peter Kay is angry with late paedophile presenter Jimmy Savile for destroying the legacy of his music video for '(Is This The Way To) Amarillo'.

The stand-up comic teamed up with singer Tony Christie in 2005 to release a version of the 1971 track - which had featured in Kay's Channel 4 sitcom 'Phoenix Nights' in 2002 - to raise money for charity Comic Relief.

The video featured Kay and a host of other beloved British celebrities miming along to the lyrics and walking and dancing, these included 'Coronation Street' actor William Roache, his late 'Corrie' co-star Anne Kirkbride, late 'Bullseye' host Jim Bowen, Sir Cliff Richard, talk show host Sir Michael Parkinson, late comedy great Ronnie Corbett and more.

In one segment, Kay is seen dancing along with 'Still Open All Hours' actress Sally Lindsay and former 'Top of the Pops' and 'Jim'll Fix host' Savile - who, after his death in 2011 aged 84, was exposed to have been a predatory paedophile who was responsible for assaulting hundreds of children.

Kay, 49, is fuming that a song and video that is so fondly remembered and raised so much money for charity will forever be associated with a paedophile.

Speaking on stage at a show on his 'It's Better Late Than Never' comedy tour, he said: "Very popular at kids parties.

"Number one for seven weeks, biggest-selling song of that year and now thanks to Jimmy Savile it’s on YouTube with a paedophile warning.

“Thanks for that Jimmy… dirty s***house.

"I can’t believe that. He was in the video.”

Since 2012, a version of the video has been aired that does not feature Savile.
