Peter Kay sends 'I love you' message to Paddy McGuinness on his Children in Need bike ride
Paddy McGuinness is currently completing a 300-mile Ultra Endurance Cycle as part of the BBC's annual telethon to raise funds for Children in Need. The Radio 2 presenter began his journey in Wrexham on Monday, November 11 and is making his way to Glasgow.
Riding on a custom-made chopper, Paddy is attempting to cycle through three nations over five days. He is midway through day four of his challenge, cycling from Ecclefechan to Strathaven. So far the presenter has raised a staggering four million pounds for Children in Need.
Talking to Vernon Kay on BBC Radio Two earlier, Paddy said: "I've got to be honest with you Vernon, I don't know if I can cope with it all. I'm suffocated by love. It's beautiful. Thank you again to every single person, young and old, who is still donating to this beautiful, amazing charity."

The actor added: "We are going to get to Glasgow. By hook or by crook I will drag the bike and walk if I have to!" The incredible challenge has been taken seriously by Paddy who trained with Olympic champion Sir Chris Hoy. He told the PA: “Chris Hoy has been absolutely, as you can imagine with some like him, outstanding, first class, brilliant with his advice.
"I really feel as though everyone’s got behind me on this, and just wants me to do it, so they’re giving me as much help as possible. But it’s been an eye-opener certainly."
The 51-year-old was emotional on Wednesday morning, November 13, as BBC Radio 2 host Zoe Ball revealed to him how much his efforts had raised so far. Whilst talking to Zoe, Paddy heard a number of supportive messages with one from fellow Bolton comedian Peter Kay. The Phoenix Nights creator told Paddy: “Hello Patrick, my old pal. “Keep peddling, keep thinking about all those children you’re helping by riding that chopper.
"A chopper! What were you thinking? You didn’t even have a chopper when we were at school. I love ya, I’m proud of you, son. You can do it. Get across that finish line and get yourself a nice garlic bread. This is the way to Glasgow-rilla!”
Paddy told Zoe: “He peps me up, that lad. That’s brilliant. Aww, that’s lovely, thank you. He sent it in, he’ll probably invoice you for it, knowing him."
The comedian is set to reach Glasgow tomorrow morning before heading back to Salford to appear during BBC One’s Children in Need show. You can donate to Paddy's challenge here
