Philip Glenister Wants More Life On Mars

Gene Hunt actor, Philip Glenister, has revealed that he would love to reprise the tough talking cop he played in Life on Mars and Ashes to Ashes.

In fact, he is so keen on getting back into Gene’s shoes that he’s teased that there could be a Life on Mars movie in the pipeline.

He’s even admitted that he has spoken to Life on Mars co-star, John Simm, about the possibility.

Speaking to Radio Times, Philip said: “Oh, yeah, I’d do it. Yeah, you bet. John and I were talking about it a while ago and I think he’d be up for it.

“Maybe to do a Life on Mars movie in some form, if we could find an angle – I think we’d be up for that, for sure.”

DCI Gene Hunt appeared in Life on Mars in 2006 and 2007 and Ashes to Ashes which ran from 2008-2010.

He was known for his non-pc policing style in both dramas and quickly became a fan favourite.

Philip went on to star in Mad Dogs, Big School and Prey.

He’s is currently starring in American series Outcast in which he plays a hard-bitten West Virginian clergyman, Reverend Anderson.

The show focuses on a young boy who, along with Philip’s character, battles demonic possession.
