Philippe Clement spots clue in Rangers fan bond as Ibrox return 'buzz' gets boss giddy for Dundee clash

Philippe Clement reckons the 'buzz' of returning to Ibrox can kick Rangers on to Premier Sports Cup progress - and says the reaction to Hamza Igamane's impressive cameo against Dundee United shows the bond is still there with the fans.

Clement will take his team back to their home stadium this weekend after a lengthy lockout due to ongoing renovation works in the Copland Road end. But it's back home on Saturday after a stay at Hampden with Dundee their opponents. And Clement says it's a 'special feeling' to be taking his team back to the south west of Glasgow.

He said: "It is a buzz (returning to Ibrox), I was there yesterday and you get a special feeling. I know it is the same with all the players, it gives us something extra - it will be the same with the fans we all want to go home.

"It always helps to have the enthusiasm of our fans. Playing at Ibrox with so many passionate people is a big help. I want to win everything, this is my goal in life and I want the team to be the same. We will be going full for the victory. There is a lot of new faces in the building but they know every game has the same importance for me.

"There were moments in the game last week when you could see the positives, we are rebuilding the squad here and you are seeing the start of the work we are doing as we get stronger and stronger each week.

"I always enjoy seeing people happy, my players, staff and fans. We only have a hunger for more trophies, I have won a lot as a player and manager but the hunger never stops. It is about winning trophies. This is why players want to come here, it is not about the money.

"We are working hard every day to improve things. I believe in the potential of this squad we have, a lot of good things have happened - we need to build, and people can start to see the good things that have been done. You could see the reaction to Hamza last week. My job is to remain stable in a club in a rebuild, and to create an environment to work away from the noise."

On injuries, it's as you were as Clement said: "Same as last week - Ridvan, Danilo and Matondo miss out. Ridvan and Danilo are individually training. Matondo is not back yet. The rest of the squad is available for selection."
