Phillip Schofield was caught using his phone when he shouldn’t have been during a segment on This Morning.

Schofield and his co-presenter Holly Willoughby had cut to Alison Hammond who was in King’s Lynn to promote the £250,000 lodge that was being given away as a prize in the show’s latest competition.

However, technical issues ensued meaning that the broadcast had to return to the studio.

But as the cameras cut back to the presenters, Schofield was seen using his phone.

It only took seconds for Schofield to realise that he was back on air and realise that viewers would have seen him on his phone.

Putting his phone down, Schofield quipped: “I was on my phone.”

Making light of the situation, Willoughby jokingly scolded him for trying to enter the competition to win the lodge.

“Were you entering the competition? You’re not allowed to do that!,” she questioned.

Insisting that he wasn’t, Schofield went on to reveal that he was about to tell his social media followers how they could get tickets to see the new series of his game show, 5 Gold Rings.

“No, I was about to Instagram how you get tickets to the new series of 5 Gold Rings,” he declared before he added that he was “working.”

“I was working. I was actually working!.”

The latest episode of This Morning also saw Line Of Duty star Rochenda Sandall talk about the show ahead of its 90 minute grand finale.

As fans wait to find out the identity of ‘H’, Sandall admitted that viewers might not get their answer when the series comes to an end on Sunday 5 May.

“It will certainly have some form of conclusion but as you’re all aware there’s still another series to go,” she told the This Morning hosts.
