Timelapse footage that shows large flames and smoke rising from Windy Hill Summit, in Portola Valley, California, during the early stages of the CZU Lightning Complex Fires has been shared online by local photographer Pankaj Bhargava.
Bhargava, told Storyful that the footage seen here was recorded on August 17, the day after the incident began.
“The small clip shows how fast this grows and how angry the Mother Nature is .. " Bhargava wrote in a Facebook post that featured the video.
“My heart goes out to all the people who are affected by this,” Bhargava added.
The CZU Lightning Complex Fire burned a little over 81,000 acres and was 21 percent contained as of August 26, according to California’s Department of Forestry and Fire Protection website.
